Can we have a wish list category please
Just going to answer my own question . There is a select main parts in number in the search filter on the standalone version of AS2012, however in the Autocad version it is still there but labelled as Assemblies Only. Major time saver this. -
Can we have a wish list category please
Can we have an option in either the filter box or in the Part marks tab on ribbon to select by main Part . On the tool bar there is an option to "Mark main part of assembly" which high lights the main part as blue. It would be handy if we could also be able to select all main parts as well. (so we can turn them off to leave visible the cleats). The work around at the moment is select the fittings by role model in the search filter. Just to speed things up is the reason -
Does AS work without AutoCad?

Does AS work without AutoCad?
Open Advance Manager on desktop screen - go to Settings and then Options. Toggle the Run Advance Steel as a standalone application at bottom left hand side of window. -

One to start us off. When right clicking a member an Advance Properties option of "display objects connected in shop" appears . All objects connected in shop turn red and unconnected objects revert to their normal colour. This would an alternative to selecting "clear marking + display objects connected in shop" on the tool palette. This option was called the HiFit command in Strucad. It would nice to see more options appear when right clicking an object. -
Does the UCS change with the view direction in the standalone version of 2012?
Can you confirm whether the UCS changes with view
direction in the standalone version of 2012. The Autocad
version has a viewcube.
For example I try to run a plan GA. I set the UCS to top
of steel then to select the steel I change the view to right
and do a crossing selection of the steel. When I look at
the GA I end up with an elevation. I figured out a work
around - however I don't see a reason for the UCS to
change to the current view direction. This does not
happen in the Autocad version. I note the UCS in the
standalone version does not change if I were to select
an ISO view. -
